Lures

Five lures for pike. Start at the cover. Pause longer than feels comfortable.

1. 01 · Jerkbait

   Rip it, then let it hang still.

   Clear pits, cold water, fish sitting mid-water.

2. 02 · Spinner

   Wind it steadily past rushes and lock mouths.

   Canals, stained water, and tight margins.

3. 03 · Shad

   Hop it on the bottom, then wait.

   Drop-offs, boat channels, after dark.

4. 04 · Weedless frog / creature

   Walk it over pads. Pause in the holes.

   Summer weed, lilies, snags.

5. 05 · Spoon

   Cast long, let it flutter, then slow-roll.

   Big pits and a searching retrieve.

How to choose on the day

Clear and cold → jerkbait, slow. Stained → spinner or a bright shad. Weed on top → frog. Searching a big pit → spoon. If he follows and won’t eat, downsize and pause longer.
